Privacy policy
This page explains which data we process when you visit our website or send us an enquiry. Last updated: October 2026.
This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is legally binding.
Who is responsible
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is Monte Nivis GmbH, Hofbauerweg 21, 4213 Unterweitersdorf, Austria, email: johannes.schneeberger@monte-nivis.com.
In brief
We only process the data needed to run the website and to handle your enquiry. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies or any analytics tools. Google Maps only loads once you agree.
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by World4You Internet Services GmbH, Linz, with servers in Austria. The provider processes data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
When a page is accessed, the server stores technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time, the page accessed and browser type. This serves the secure and stable operation of the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.
Enquiry and contact form
When you send us an enquiry or message, we process the details from the form: name, email address, apartment, travel dates, number of guests and your message. We use them to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a rental contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). For general messages, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The details are sent to us by email and are not stored on the web server. An automatic acknowledgement is sent to your email address.
If a booking is made, we keep the records for as long as required by law, in Austria usually 7 years (Section 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, BAO).
Email via Google Workspace
We use Google Workspace from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for our emails. Google processes the emails on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses also apply.
Protection against misuse
To prevent the form from being misused for spam, the server stores a non-reversible check value (hash) of your IP address for no more than one hour to limit the number of enquiries. We also keep a technical log without email addresses (e.g. "enquiry sent" or calendar sync errors), which is overwritten regularly. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Calendar sync
Our server retrieves the occupancy calendars (iCal) from Booking.com and Airbnb to show booked dates. Only the booked dates are stored, no guest names. No data about you as a visitor is transferred.
Google Maps
The Google Maps map (Google Ireland Limited) only loads when you click "Load map" or choose "Allow Google Maps" in the notice (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data such as your IP address is then transferred to Google, including to the USA. You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. More in Google's privacy policy.
Fonts and photos
Fonts and photos are stored on our own server. No connection to third parties is made for them when you open our pages.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. In your browser we only store whether you have allowed Google Maps. This is technically necessary (Section 165(3) TKG 2021).
Booking and stay
If you book, we also process the data needed for the contract, payment, tourist tax and the guest register required by law (Austrian Registration Act). The legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. You can withdraw consent (e.g. for Google Maps) at any time with effect for the future. Just write to us at johannes.schneeberger@monte-nivis.com.
If you believe we are not processing your data correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
